    and uncommon embroidery:

Stitching is self-expression.  Storytelling.

Stitching is therapy.  Repair in a world that’s fast and often unfair.

Stitching is pleasant solitude or fine time with friends.

By hand or machine, stitching is my love language.

I taught fiber arts for thirty years in the San Diego area, best loving two-dimensional cloth art,

mostly uncommon quilts for the wall.  I call my style of work “pure quiltage” (say: kwil-tahge’),

because it’s a synthesis of piecing and layering fused applique' -- textile collage.

Now I'm happily retired (from weekly classes), to the Willamette Valley, Oregon.

And since I've always been a 'flower' girl, I get to garden!!

Two years ago, I experienced a difficult stroke and had to relearn many basic skills,

like threading my sewing machine. So in the last year I've concentrated on

hand stitching on vintage linens -- uncommon embroidery!

My work portrays what’s important to me-- faith in Jesus, family, the beauty of creation,

the courage of the human spirit, the joy of humor...

                          Welcome to my world!
